By accessing or using this website, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions of use. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use the website.
These terms sit alongside our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which explain how we collect, use and store personal data. If you have any questions about these terms, please contact us at info@macwo.org.
2. Website use
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit the use and enjoyment of the site by any other person. This means, for example, that you must not:
- use the website in any way that breaches any applicable local, national or international law or regulation;
- use the website in any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect;
- transmit any material that is defamatory, obscene, offensive, hateful, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate;
- knowingly transmit any data, send or upload any material that contains viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time-bombs, keystroke loggers, spyware, adware or any other harmful programs;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the website, the server on which it is stored or any server, computer or database connected to the website.
3. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, MACWO owns or holds the rights to all intellectual property in this website and the material published on it. This includes, but is not limited to:
- text and written content;
- images and photographs;
- logos and branding;
- graphics, page layouts and design; and
- downloadable materials and resources.
All such rights are reserved. You may view pages from this website in a web browser and print or download them for your own personal, non-commercial use, for study or for the purpose of signposting people to our services.
You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, adapt, translate, republish, sell, license or exploit any part of this website or its content for commercial purposes without our prior written consent. If you wish to use MACWO materials in this way, please contact info@macwo.org.
4. Accuracy of information
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that the information on this website is accurate and up to date at the time of publication. However, our services, programmes, referral routes and funding can change over time, and information may become out of date.
The content on this website is provided for general information only. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. Before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of the content on our site, you should consider seeking specialist advice that is tailored to your circumstances (for example from a legal, financial or health professional).
5. External links
Our website may contain links to third-party websites and resources. These are provided for your information and convenience only. We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources and accept no responsibility for them or for any loss or damage that may arise from your use of them.
When you follow a link to another website, you should read the privacy notice, cookie policy and terms of use provided by that site.
6. Forms, referrals and volunteer applications
Many pages on this website include online forms that allow you to request support, refer someone to our services, register for programmes or apply to volunteer. When you submit a form you agree that:
- the information you provide is, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and complete; and
- where you are providing information about another person, you have their consent to do so or you are otherwise legally entitled to share that information (for example as a parent, carer or professional).
We will use the information you provide to assess and respond to your request, and to manage any ongoing contact or support, in line with our Privacy Policy.
7. Donations and payments
From time to time our website may provide links or forms that enable you to make online donations or other payments in support of MACWO's work. Online payments are typically processed through third-party payment providers who specialise in secure payment processing.
While we take reasonable steps to choose reputable providers and keep payment processes secure, you should also take care to protect your own payment information and use a secure device and internet connection. We do not store your full card details on our own servers.
Donations are generally non-refundable. However, if you believe a donation has been made in error or without your authorisation, please contact us as soon as possible at info@macwo.org. Any refund will be at the discretion of the charity and subject to our legal and financial obligations.
8. Volunteer applications
We welcome volunteer applications through our website. Submitting an application does not guarantee that we will be able to offer you a volunteer role. We may need to consider safeguarding requirements, availability of roles, references, right to volunteer in the UK and other relevant checks (for example Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks where required).
We reserve the right to decline or end a volunteer placement at our discretion, in line with our volunteer policies and safeguarding responsibilities.
9. Safeguarding
MACWO works with children, young people, families and vulnerable adults. Safeguarding is central to our work. If information provided through our website or other channels suggests that a child or adult may be at risk of harm, we may need to share that information with appropriate agencies such as social services or the police, even if you have asked us not to.
We will follow our safeguarding policies and legal obligations in these situations, and where it is safe and appropriate to do so we will explain to you what action we are taking and why.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MACWO and its trustees, employees and volunteers will not be liable for any loss or damage arising in connection with:
- your use of, or inability to use, this website; or
- your reliance on any content displayed on this website.
In particular, we will not be liable for any loss of profits, sales, business or revenue, business interruption, loss of anticipated savings, loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation, or any indirect or consequential loss or damage.
11. Service availability
We aim to keep the website available and running smoothly. However, we do not guarantee that the site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw, discontinue or change all or any part of the site without notice, for example to carry out maintenance, updates or improvements.
We will not be liable to you if for any reason the website is unavailable at any time or for any period.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms of use from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law, our services or how we operate this website. The revised terms will take effect as soon as they are published on this page. We recommend that you check this page regularly to ensure you are familiar with the current version.

These terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, or with your use of this website, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
